Sung is a New York–based creative leader, conceptual artist, and founder of Frozenism whose multidisciplinary practice bridges art, visual communication, and social responsibility. He studied art, photography, and visual communication at Hongik University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, developing an interdisciplinary approach that draws from both historical and contemporary artistic practices.
Driven by the belief that art can exist within everyday life, Sung transforms ideas, materials, and lived experience into visual systems. Since 2010, he has been developing Frozenism, a practice-based artistic framework that explores time through ice, language, emotion, and memory.
Rooted in the idea of “Time Frozen, Art Alive,” Frozenism examines preservation and disappearance, stillness and transformation, and the fragile relationship between human experience, society, and the environment. Through photography, installation, performance, and visual communication, Sung uses the changing states of ice to make temporal experience visible.
His work has received international recognition across art, photography, and design, including an Honorable Mention in Experience Design from Fast Company, as well as honors from the Fred A. Hillbruner Artists’ Book Awards, International Photography Awards, CLIO Awards, IDSA IDEA Awards, Red Dot Awards, HOW, Creativity, Adobe and other international platforms. His works are held in institutional collections including The Henry Ford Museum, the SAIC Library, and The Joan M. Flaxman Library, and have been exhibited and published internationally.
