Sung is a New York–based creative leader, conceptual artist, and photographer whose work bridges conceptual art, visual communication, and social responsibility. He studied art, photography, video, sculpture, and visual communication at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where he developed a multidisciplinary practice grounded in both historical and contemporary artistic methodologies.
Driven by the belief that art should exist within everyday life, Sung transforms ideas into meaningful visual systems through conceptual practice. Since 2010, he has been developing Frozenism, a practice-based artistic framework that explores time through ice, language, emotion, and memory. Rooted in the philosophy of “Time Frozen, Art Alive,” Frozenism reimagines time as a layered and living condition shaped through freezing, condensation, and melting.
Through exhibitions, installations, performance, photography, and visual language projects presented internationally, Sung engages audiences in dialogue around social, environmental, and ethical issues. His work explores preservation, disappearance, emotional temporality, and the fragility of human existence in relation to society and the environment.
His work has been recognized by leading international platforms including the Fred A. Hillbruner Artists’ Awards, IPA International Photography Fine Art Awards, CLIO Awards, IDEA (IDSA), Red Dot, and HOW. His conceptual works are included in the permanent collections of The Henry Ford Museum, The SAIC Chicago Library, and The Joan M. Flaxman Library, and have been widely published internationally.
